Dress Code Police Protest

In this wrting , I will protest against the current Lewiston High School (LHS) dress code policy. I have several reservations about this policy and I think that a protest would be the most effective way to implement a new dress code. In particular, I think that the students should wear uniform clothes that represent the school's colors which are blue and white. I think that uniform significantly changes the academic atmosphere, such as student professionalism. Also, I think that with a uniform dress code policy there will be less competition between the students about what kinds of clothes they wear. For example, some students are discouraged when they see other students wearing expensive clothes they cannot afford. I believe school should be an environment in which students are supportive of one another and very respectful to their peers as well as to their teachers. However, I think that a dress code policy is the one of the most effective ways to create such change.
The form of protest that I think would be most effective is the one that is conducted outside of a parent-teacher conference. I believe that this is the best way to protest this issue, because students are not going to individually decide to wear uniform. Also, I think that if I handed out flyers that very clearly explained the benefits that a uniform dress code policy is greatly beneficial to the student academic environment the parents will be convinced to have their children (the students) wear uniform.
I think that some of the parents will be very receptive to this policy, but it will be difficult for some of them to convince their children otherwise.
I predict that while I'm protesting, some students will pass by and express contempt with my flyers. However, I think that some of the parents will be very excited about the opportunity to have their children where uniform. I suspect that some of the parents will sit down, ask me questions and engage in friendly conversation. Once they do, I will informatively discuss the content of my flyers. In particular, I will discuss why I strongly believe that a uniform dress code policy is very beneficial for all the students and great for fostering a vibrant academic community. Ultimately, I think that this protest will achieve my goal which is to have more students wear uniform at Lewiston High School (LHS).
